Ouch!

Monday, June 6th, 2005

Had a bad flare up on friday.
I managed to keep it under control,
but it’s still bad.

I guess I’m at 50% (from the overall maximum) right now.
Doesn’t sound too bad, but considering that I was running around 15-20% for the last few weeks,
makes this the worst I’ve been through for a while.

And keep in mind that the “I could live with this if I really had no other choice”-level would be about 1-2%.

Let’s just say it’s bad.

But I’m flying to California tomorrow.
And I’m pretty sure they will fix it for good :)

Stanford

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

As I already mentioned before I’ll be going to San Francisco next week.
To get treatment according to the “Stanford Protocol”.
So it’s time to check my status to see how much improvement the trip brings.

After my last visit to scotland in the second week of may I felt pretty good.
I went to a four day open air festival (sleeping in a tent, in the cold, with rain all weekend) and survived with only one very minor (2 minute) flare up.

Since then I had a pretty good time.
I had a small flare up last week.
And a bigger one this week … the last few days weren’t so good.
But overall I feel pretty fine :)

I haven’t been doing my relaxation exercises lately nor my stretches.
I’ve been pushing my diet to the limits and it’s still OK.

I hope that after my trip I’ll be 100% OK again.

Scotland - Treatment 7

Tuesday, May 10th, 2005

Just had my seventh treatment.
It’s my fourth trip to scotland.

My therpist and I agree, that my symptoms improved by around 80%.
With another treatment coming up this thursday,
I’m afraid that there will be nothing to fix for the Stanford guys in june ;)

Hypnosis

Friday, April 22nd, 2005

I’m still working on that Hypnosis/Trance/Guided Imagery - thing.

Looks like I’m going for Spinning Inward next.

Flare up

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Had a flare up over the last few days.

It started saturday afternoon and is slowly going back to normal.
On the good side:
My insurrance finaly decided that it might actually be a good idea to go to Stanford to get fixed.
I already talked to Dr. Wise and it looks like I’ll be participating in the june clinic.

On a side note:
I got a (small) herpes upsring on my lip. Nothing major.
But actually I’m almost happy about it. Ever since this CPPS problem started I didn’t have any trouble with herpes.
Doctors told me that I had “found a new outlet for [my] anxiety”. So maybe this is a sign that things are going back to normal.
Or maybe not … we’ll see…

Symptoms

Monday, April 18th, 2005

I didn’t find the time to work with the self hypnosis,
but I worked on my triggerpoints.

Yesterday I found a really bad one … and today it’s already much better.

This stuff should be taught at school.

Systemic Enzyme Therapy for CPPS

Thursday, April 14th, 2005

There are some rumors floating around that Systemic Enzyme Therapy (SET) is helpfull in curing CPPS.
I didn’t find any hard evidence yet,
but from what I understood so far about it (=Systemic Enzyme Therapy) it should be the right direction.

a) SET has an analgesic effect
b) the effect of all other drugs is enhanced, thus you need to take less
c) the (myofascial) triggerpoint release/therapy should be far less painfull

I’ll do some more research and might even start with a little experiment (on myself).

Bloggers with CPPS

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

Hmmm … just checkd Technorati for and it looks like no one else is blogging about this “disease”.

I thought maybe is more popular,
but there is no hit at all.

Am I the only one with this problem ?

Maybe this helps to spread awareness a little:

Hypnosis and Selftreatment

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

I promised to come back about how the selfhypnosisi is working.

The truth?
I can’t tell you. At least not yet.

Each session needs one hour and I need to do at least 15 of them before anything (really measurable) is expected to happen.
I had 4 sessions so far … and I feel more relaxed, so that is good.

I also started to treat my (internal) trigger points myself.
I know what to do and where to do it.
The spot is just a little bit hard to reach.

I had two (10minute) sessions last saturday and two more on monday.
I plan to get into a Monday-Wednesday-Friday rythm.

I know two things about these sessions:
a) they hurt like hell.
b) they help!

Health

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

Just a short checkup.

Bloodpressure is ~ 90/60.
And my bloodoxygene also doesn’t look too good at 94%
:(

I’ll start exercising again soon … so I hope that will fix it.

Auto Hypnosis

Monday, April 4th, 2005

Last week I started with hypnosis (DRTRC) to help myself relax even better.

Did three sessions so far. Two saturday and one today.

I always “fall asleep” at the same time, so I guess it’s working.
It’s just creating a simply trigger to relax … nothing more.

In a few weeks I should be able to tell you how good it is working.

THE triggerpoint

Thursday, March 3rd, 2005

Just had my fourth session with Bill.

Looks like we found the core of the problem.
There is a really (really REALLY) bad triggerpoint on my left levator ani (the Coccygeus to be exact).
By pressing on the triggerpoint he could refer pain to all the parts of my body I had problems with over the last month;
And - maybe more importantly - he caused the itching (which was the first problem that I had) to get really bad.

I made 4 other appointments and will be back in Edinburgh in early April and early May.

This might really be the solution :)

Scotland

Tuesday, March 1st, 2005

I had my third treatment today.
Three hours of torture, but I think it was worth it.

Bill said it’s about 40% better compared to the first treatment.
(I was thinking 30%, but I guess he is right.)

He’s getting down to deeper layers now and seems to be pretty confident
that he is doing the right thing.

Well, I’ll wait and see.

Next treatment is on thursday.

Status

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

I’m still alive.
My health didn’t get worse, but it also didn’t get better.

Flying to scotland again next week.
I hope that will really improve things … again.

Doing a lot of “esoterik” stuff - stones, light, oils - maybe it helps… and I’m sure it won’t make things worse.

Getting better…

Monday, February 14th, 2005

I really think things are improving.
Started to get rid of the quicksilver in my body
with algae capsules.

Had a myreflex therapy last friday.
And apart from a cold I had a pretty good weekend.
Even had some sex … and lasted almost 5 minutes … which is a big improvement over the 15 seconds from the last try…

My right buttock muscle is sore like hell, but I’m sure it will get better.

Had a “chakra therapy” today - but I’m not even sure if I should call it that.
I could feel the bones in my spine shift.
She told me it might worsen the next few days,
but we are getting there.

All in all I’m pretty sure we are on the right track.
And I will get really good again.
It might be a while, but I’ll be OK.

Chakra Therapy

Tuesday, February 1st, 2005

Just had another “chakra” session.
At the beginning it went very smooth.
I started to wonder if anything will happen at all,
but then she went to work on my “bad side” (=left) again
and the pain was there. Full blown.

She told me that the bands and muscles on that side seem to be very short and tight.
That’s confirming what the therapist in scotland said.

She told me to get a red shawl. To help my mood get better.
Ever since that whole thing started I waited for someone to blame it on my black outfit.
Now it happened … and I believe her … ;)
Well, will wear more of my red stuff from now on.
Luckily I got plenty.

Scotland

Monday, January 31st, 2005

Had my second treatment last thursday.
It was painfull, but it helped.

Had a long trip back home. My flight was delayed about 4 hours,
so I ended up arriving at home around 6am.

Slept most of the day on friday.
On saturday did some shopping with Kathrin and still felt great, despite the cold.
Had dinner with friends and even went out clubbing.

I still felt great sunday morning.
Sunday afternoon the ‘itching’ came back full blown
and shortly after that my belly was hurting again.
It felt like concrete.

Today I had weak legs again.

Will go back to scotland soon.

Today

Wednesday, January 26th, 2005

Spent the day at a local internet cafe.
Don’t feel really bad, but don’t feel that good either.
I guess walking around town all day yesterday didn’t help improve my state
and left me a bit exhausted.

Sitting in the hostel right now.
Just wasting time.

Will have one more session with Bill tomorrow,
before I go back home.

Comment

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

Earlier I said that I don’t feel any better yet.

I definitly don’t feel any worse.
I walked through Edinburgh the whole afternoon (3-5 hours) and still feel ok.

I guess I already have more energy than yesterday.

Edinburgh

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

I arrived in Edinburgh earlythis morning … around 1am.
The trip was OK. The only problem was that I had bustickets from the wrong “Glasgow International Airport”.
Well, I took the train and managed to get here.

Today I had my first session with Bill.
Can’t say if I feel better yet, but he definitly pushed the right spots.
And it seemed like he really understands the problem.

I’ll keep you posted.
